The "grinding of the greens" is underway! A contractor is turning discarded Christmas trees into free mulch today. A small mountain of Christmas trees on Mr. Joe White Avenue, near Myrtle Waves Water Park, are being ground into mulch. The resulting free mulch piles should be available sometime Tuesday on a "first-come, first-served" basis. Every year, Myrtle Beach and the Solid Waste Authority recycle Christmas trees into free mulch for the public. It also saves valuable space in the landfill.
