The Sun Fun Festival celebrates its 69th year this Friday through Sunday, May 10-12, 2024

The Sun Fun Festival celebrates its 69th year this Friday through Sunday, May 10-12, 2024, with a host of free entertainment in downtown Myrtle Beach – from live music and kids activities to exciting parachute jumps.

The three-day event kicks off Friday with a performance from Chris Taylor and The Rumor at 6:00 p.m. at Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard.  That same night at 9 p.m., the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team will light up the skies over the beach with their famous Pyro Jump. Two daytime jumps are also planned for Saturday at Noon and 4:00 p.m.

The Sun Fun Family Festival has weekend-long family attractions including free oceanfront games, a photo booth, face painting, glitter tattoos, kids crafts and more.  The festival hours are 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, 12:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Additional musical performances include Gump Fiction playing on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., followed by beach music from Swingin' Medallions at 7:00 p.m., and wrapping up the weekend are Too Much Sylvia on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.   For event details, see https://sunfunmb.com/.
