OVERVIEW

The City of Myrtle Beach’s residential parking decals are available to city residents who have personal vehicles or motorcycles that "live" in the city limits and on which city property taxes have been paid.  The city counts property taxes paid on vehicles as a parking payment, whether or not the owner uses public parking.  Everyone pays for parking, just in different ways.  Residents can submit requests online or in-person Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Reef Parking Office.

14 North Kings Highway (Ninth Avenue North Entrance)
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina 29577

The paid parking season is year-round, effective November 1, 2023.  Residential parking decals allow for free parking at city-owned, public spaces.  Decal owners must adhere to hourly parking restrictions posted at spaces. Two-year residential parking decals are available for calendar years 2023 and 2024.  New residential parking decals will be valid through December 31, 2024.

2023-24 DECALS & REQUIRED MATERIALS

Customers can submit requests online or in-person at the Reef Parking Office in the Pavilion Parking Garage, 914 North Kings Highway (Ninth Avenue North Entrance), 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  (NOTE:
Residents who have not had a parking decal in the past will need to apply in-person.)  To receive decals in-person, bring the materials listed above to the Pavilion Parking Garage.  For online registration, see below.

Each decal is specific to each vehicle; decals are not interchangeable or transferrable.  Replacement decals due to windshield damage, transfer of ownership, loss of decal or other cause are available for $20 each, upon presentation of valid property tax and registration information.  When selling or trading your vehicle, if you remove the parking decal from the old vehicle and present it when applying for a new decal, you can avoid the $20 replacement charge.

COMMERCIAL USE VEHICLES

Commercial use vehicles are not eligible for the Resident Parking Decal.  However, the owner of an in-city business who also lives inside the city and uses a company-registered vehicle as his/her sole personal vehicle may qualify for a decal for that vehicle.  To download the Business Vehicle Parking Decal Affirmation Application, click here.

IN-PERSON DECAL REGISTRATION

Residents can submit requests online or in-person at the Reef Parking Office in the Pavilion Parking Garage, 914 North Kings Highway (Ninth Avenue North Entrance), 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Customers who have not had a parking decal in the past will need to apply in-person.

What you'll need...
Residents need the up-to-date South Carolina vehicle registration card, driver's license and current Horry County vehicle property tax receipt for each vehicle to receive a decal.  If residents own a qualifying golf cart, also include the South Carolina Golf Cart permit number issued by the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.
Your South Carolina Driver's License address must match your Horry County Vehicle Paid Tax Receipt.  (If you do not have your vehicle tax receipt, you can look it up through Horry County's Tax Payments & Receipts portal.)

NOTE:  If you have not paid the City of Myrtle Beach vehicle property tax, you cannot receive a Resident Parking Decal for your personal vehicle.  However, non-resident parking decals are available for $100 per year for defined areas.  See our Parking Meters webpage for more information about these and other parking details.

ONLINE DECAL REGISTRATION

The online parking decal registration process below is for residents who have had a parking decal issued in the past.  Each decal is specific to each vehicle; decals are not interchangeable or transferrable.  After processing, parking decals are mailed to the registered address.

At the moment, online vehicle property tax data in this process is current from November 1, 2023, through January 31, 2024, but it is updated monthly.  If you paid your vehicle taxes after January 31, 2024, you may take your tax receipt and vehicle registration to the Myrtle Beach Parking Office in the Pavilion Parking Garage, corner of Kings Highway and Ninth Avenue North (entrance on Ninth Avenue North)  to receive a parking decal, or wait until the most recent monthly data is posted here.  If you do not have your vehicle tax receipt, you can look it up through Horry County's Tax Payments and Receipts portal.

PLEASE HAVE ALL MATERIALS READY AND FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS.  ALSO, ENTER YOUR NAME EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON THE VEHICLE TAX RECEIPT.  CLICK HERE TO BEGIN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.

If any of the following apply, you WILL NOT be able to use the online registration system.  Instead, please apply for your decal in-person at the Reef Parking Office, 914 North Kings Highway, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
