Creative costumes and fast paddling were in supply at the 16^th Annual Dragon Boat Festival at Grand Park Lake last Saturday, April 27.  Ground Zero hosts a “Dragon Boat Race” charity event in the Market Common area featuring local organizations, including the Myrtle Beach Police Department.  Around 7,000 spectators filled the lawn as the teams of 20 pushed it to the limit in the 200-meter water race.  This event had vendors, food trucks and a “most impressive costume” competition.  The Myrtle Beach Fire Department’s Ocean Rescue unit was on standby in the water keeping the teams safe, too.
