Graduation ceremonies were held March 26 for the 35th class of the Myrtle Beach Citizens Police Academy. Police Chief Amy Prock presented the graduates with their diplomas and thanked the city staff for offering the course. Participants get a behind-the-scenes look at the Police Department, from the K-9 unit to the Fire Arms Training System. They learn about domestic violence calls and crime scene investigation and even get to drive a police car on the obstacle course. The Citizens Police Academy is offered twice a year, in the winter and fall.
