Myrtle Beach Fire Department answered 14,459 calls for service during 2018
Of those, 9,306 were for medical calls (EMS and Rescue), the most common reason. Of the remaining calls, 1,782 were false alarms; 1,566 were service calls; 1,366 were “good intent” calls; and only 253 were for actual fires. The Fire Department also conducted 4,201 inspections in 2018, and firefighters completed 67,337 hours of training.
