Myrtle Beach Fire Department launches SHERO campaign

MARCH 31, 2023

The Myrtle Beach Fire Department is proud to announce it's first SHERO Campaign. The U.S. Fire Administration reports five percent of all career firefighters are women, and we want to help change that. The MBFD will be hosting a SHERO women’s recruiting event that includes speaking with our MBFD team members, smoke maze scenarios, team-building exercises and an agility test for those who are interested in joining our profession. Whether it’s joining our department’s Ocean Rescue, HAZMAT, Incident Management, Swift Water or Weapons of Mass Destruction teams (just to name a few), your possibilities at the Myrtle Beach Fire Department are endless. Don’t just see it, #EARNIT!

You must be at least 18 years old to attend. The SHERO women’s recruiting event is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, at Fire Station No. 3. Fire Station No. 3 is located at 2108 South Kings Highway. No registration is required. Questions? Call Lt. Jon Evans at (843) 918-1221. As a reminder, firefighter applications for the next MBFD recruit class open to everyone on Friday, April 7, here: https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/myrtlebeach.
