Do you know what Seagate Village was formerly called?

AUGUST 29, 2022

Did you know… that Seagate Village was originally called Woodland Park when it was built as family housing for the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base? Construction began in 1959 on 800 units, specifically for married officers and noncommissioned officers. The all-electric homes were either two- or three-bedroom duplexes or three-bedroom single family homes. After the base closure in 1993, the Redevelopment Authority sold the neighborhood to a private developer. The base housing was renovated and renamed Seagate Village.
