Sun Fun returns to Myrtle Beach this weekend

A classic Myrtle Beach family tradition returns this weekend! Since 1951, the Sun Fun Festival has been a Myrtle Beach staple. Here’s a throwback photo to celebrate! The 66th annual Sun Fun Festival returns this Friday through Sunday, May 6-8. The celebration includes live music, the U.S. Army Golden Knights, a parade and more! 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 6 – The Tonez Live Performance
The Tonez, an eight-piece band, perform a mix of genres, including oldies, Motown, country, rock and roll, R&B and beach music in Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard.
9:00 p.m., Friday, May 6 – U.S. Army Golden Knights Evening Performance
The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team performs a “pyro jump” and will land on the beach in front of Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard.
10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7 – Sun Fun Festival Parade
The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. and travels along Ocean Boulevard, from 16th to Eighth Avenues North. The parade is free to enter. See http://sunfunmb.com/ for information.
12:00 and 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7 – U.S. Army Golden Knights Daytime Performances
The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team performs two daytime performances at noon and 4:00 p.m., and will land on the beach in front of Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard.
7:00 p.m., Saturday, May 7 – Too Much Sylvia Performance
Too Much Sylvia has entertained audiences for 30 years with a variety of songs suited for the young and old. The concert takes place in Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard.
7:00 p.m., Sunday, May 8 – Swingin’ Medallions Performance
Based out of Greenwood, South Carolina, The Swingin’ Medallions group has existed since the early 1960s. Although the members have changed over the years, the group will once again bring R&B and beach music to entertain in Plyler Park, 1000 North Ocean Boulevard.
