Myrtle Beach cemetery improvements underway

APRIL 20. 2022
The City of Myrtle Beach wants to highlight our #FirstinService team members... Timmy, Travis and Kurt, who make up our Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery staff. This team of three's efforts have not gone unnoticed as it's hard to miss the improvements at the historical site along South Kings Highway. Here's what they've done and have planned to clean-up this cemetery:
- Just-planted hibiscus, hardy purple petunias, sago palms and shrubs greet you as you enter the cemetery. Mulch has also been laid in garden-areas around the grounds.
- You'll notice the grass is greener, as this team has worked hard to get grass to cover the entire cemetery. To do this, new grass seed was used irrigation has been installed in older parts of the cemetery that had no consistent water supply previously.
- The cemetery's roads are on schedule to be paved toward the end of the summer (chip and seal).
- The fence around the cemetery has been repainted with a specialty black paint, more weather-resistant and long-lasting.
Thank you Timmy, Travis and Kurt!
