The City of Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand Humane Society partner to address a pest infestation

The City of Myrtle Beach is working with the Grand Strand Humane Society to address a pest infestation at the shelter facility on Mr. Joe White Avenue  Extension.  The city has hired a licensed exterminator to begin remediation efforts in August.  This will require the shelter to relocate the animals for up to 30 days, while the work is accomplished.  The city and the Humane Society are working in partnership to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.  The public’s assistance in adopting or re-homing the animals will be appreciated.  Remediation could begin sooner if the Humane Society is successful in adopting out or temporarily relocating the sheltered animals before August 1.
