Did you know…  That Myrtle Beach was one of the first governments in the state to post its weekly check registers online for the public to see?  The City of Myrtle Beach began posting its weekly check registers in July 2009, nine years ago.  In September 2009, SC Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom held a news conference on the steps of City Hall to recognize Myrtle Beach for its transparency and to encourage other governments to follow the city’s example.
