AIR FORCE BASE HISTORICAL SIGNAGE

The Myrtle Beach Air Force Base operated until 1993 and was home to the 354th Fighter Day Wing/Tactical Fighter Wing. The Base deployed squadrons to Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with major service in Germany, Cuba, Lebanon, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf.  To commemorate the Air Force Base site,  historical signagge was added in 2016.  Tee markers feature the squadron emblems, while signs recount the biographies of the wing commanders who served the Base.  The golf course unveiled 27 new signs.  A sign will mark each of the 18 holes along the course.  Scorecards also have been redesigned with the Base history in mind.
