Santa Claus was in the house!  Happy children greeted St. Nick at the Garden of Hope Tree Lighting Ceremony in Myrtle Beach last Sunday.  Hundreds of families turned out for the annual event, hosted by the city’s Neighborhood Services Department at the community garden on Carver Street, in the Booker T. Washington neighborhood.  Myrtle Beach High School’s Show Choir performed, followed by the tree lighting and Santa’s arrival.  Mr. and Mrs. Claus then greeted children, posed for photos and gave each one a gift.  Santa enjoyed the visit at least as much as the youngsters did!  Other activities during the evening included food and hot chocolate.  Several hundred residents were on hand.
