The first-ever Public Safety Day at Coastal Grand Mall was a big success!  Police and fire resources from across the Grand Strand were on display Saturday, October 22.  The City of Myrtle Beach was represented by our Fire, Police and Public Works Departments.  Even Goggles, one of the K-9 officers, was on hand to greet visitors.  Also represented were North Myrtle Beach, Midway, Georgetown, Conway and Horry County Fire Departments.  Myrtle Beach International Airport allowed everyone to climb aboard its big, green foam machine.  And the Myrtle Beach Fire Department used its fire trailer to show how quickly actual flames can spread in a home and how smoke detectors can save lives.  Hot dogs, live music, bouncy houses and vendors all provided a festive atmosphere for the important safety messages.
