The Paws for Reading program lets youngsters practice their reading skills aloud with certified therapy dogs as the audience. Shane (the Samoyed) and Elvis (the Irish Setter) seem to enjoy the attention as much as the children. The reading program has become a regular feature each summer at Chapin memorial Library. Kids read out loud to a furry, friendly listener. It gives them a chance to practice reading to a non-critical audience.
