Following 24 weeks of intensive training at the Myrtle Beach Fire Recruit School, 13 newly-minted firefighters received their official helmets during graduation ceremonies on May 13 at Horry-Georgetown Technical College’s Conference Center.  Friends and family members pinned badges on their loved ones.  Ten of the new firefighters are part of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department.  Congratulations to Robert Anderson, Danielle Dougherty, Nathan Ellis, Alexander Fisk, Gage Hicks, Bryan Levy, Georgia Speier, Dimario Stephens, Nicholas Sutton and Garrison Thabet, who are part of our “first in service” team.  Of the remaining three graduates, Gregg Johnsen serves at Midway Fire Department, Joseph Lajoie at Conway Fire Department and Cody Toomer at Murrells Inlet/Garden City Fire Department.
