Forty years, plus one month….  That’s how long Police Lieutenant Tommy Chestnut served the public as a member of the Myrtle Beach Police Department.  Lt. Chestnut retired this week.  He joined the force in March 1980 and rose through the ranks.  Fellow officers and staff attended his final radio sign-off at the Ted C. Collins Law Enforcement Center.  Chestnut followed in his dad’s footsteps.  After 26 years, his father retired as a lieutenant from the Myrtle Beach Police Department.  Thanks, Tommy Chestnut, for four decades of service as one of Myrtle Beach’s finest, and best wishes on your retirement!
