The wall of hand-decorated tiles that surrounds the playground at Chapin Park is called the Peace Wall.  It was part of a global project for peace and is still a much-loved feature.  Myrtle Beach children painted the tiles in the early and mid-1990s.  Today, they enjoy coming back – now that they are no longer kids – and sharing their handiwork with their own children.   The history page for the World Wall for Peace can be found at http://wwfp.org/Pages/history.php.  In the gallery, you’ll see links to our wall in Myrtle Beach, as well as a dozen or so others, from Hiroshima to Atlanta and Moscow to Nashville.
