Members of the Nance Family turned out in force March 6 for the rededication of Nance Plaza at the corner of Kings Highway and Ninth Avenue North in Myrtle Beach.  The updated park features a new fence, lighting, landscaping and a refurbished memorial plaque for Daniel Wayne Nance and Mary Ellen Todd Nance.  The fountain continues to be a focal point.  The Nances were one of Myrtle Beach's founding families.  Daniel Nance was first a farmer and then a builder.  He constructed many of the homes and commercial buildings in the downtown area and some of the historic homes along Ocean Boulevard.  The Nances married in 1910 and had 10 children.
