A sizeable crowd welcomed the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade on Saturday, January 14.  Turnout was strong and the parade was long, despite the chilly weather.  The parade traveled south on Ocean Boulevard from 15th Avenue North to Eighth Avenue North.  Horry County Schools’ All Star Marching Band provided musical entertainment.  Other entries included floats, business groups, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and local celebrities.  The annual parade was sponsored by the Carolinas African American Foundation, with support from the City of Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance.
