Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, corner of Oak Street and 33rd Avenue North, features a well equipped weight room with free weights and machines; a cardio room with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair climbers and more; an indoor track; a 25-yard swimming pool with six lanes and diving boards; a shallow pool; and two gymnasiums equipped with eight basketball goals, pickleball and volleyball equipment, and a number of other functions. Monday through Thursday: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Open Play Volleyball on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. -3:30 p.m. Open to all players and anyone who enjoys the game. Free for members, $3 for seniors, $5 for adults.

Minimum Requirements: Able to walk or run 1 mile in 15 minutes.

START SMART MOVE AND PLAY
This program focuses on important developmental programming for Preschoolers ages 2 and 3 years old. Start Smart Move and Play will teach fine and gross motor skills that will create a solid foundation for the future in a fun and stress-free environment
Classes: April 3rd - May 29th on Wednesday Evenings 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. or April 4th - May 30th on Thursday Mornings 11:00 - 11:45 a.m.
Program Fees: City Resident $25 or Non City $45
ZUMBINI is a music and movement class for babies ages 0-3 years and their caregiver.
April 2nd - June 5th
Afternoon Session: Tuesdays 5:30-6:15pm
Morning Session: Wednesdays 11-11:45am
Each session is limited to 10 kids and their caregiver.
New Participants—Fees: $60 City Residents / $80 Non– City Residents (Fees include 10 instructor-led classes, a lyric book, 2 CDs, and a toy)

Kids ages 3 and 4 will learn the basics of Tap and Ballet dance and work to improve their motor skills.

No previous dance experience necessary. Ballet, Tap, and Jazz shoes are highly recommended. Please ask the instructor for specific shoe styles.
BALLET, TAP, AND JAZZ

GRADES K-2, Class Meets 3:00 - 3:45 p.m.
GRADES 3-5, Class Meets 4:00 p.m. 5:15 p.m.
Kids will learn the basic skills of ballet, tap, and Jazz dance techniques. Dancers will learn choreography and will perform in a Dance Showcase.
Program Fees: $15 City Residents/$30 Non-City Residents
Pepper Geddings also offers a Start Smart program for children, ages three to six. The program is designed to prepare young children for organized sports.
Start Smart – Preschool Sports Readiness Program is a proven instructional program that prepares children for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn all of the basic skills…throwing, catching & kicking.

Get your 24-visit punch card at the front desk. Punch cards cost $28 for city residents or $50 for non-city residents. The card allows 24 visits to any of the following classes listed below. The Fitness Punch Cards can be used at all city recreation facilities and do not expire. City residents pay $4 per class and non-city residents pay $10 per class. All classes are held at the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, 3205 Oak Street.

B Fit Jam**: It’s your JAM in this class! At each station, you will work with a fitness tool that begins with a ‘B’ (balls, bars, bands, etc.) to meet your personal strength challenge.

Basic Strength and Cardio Training*: Learn the basics of strength training and cardio exercise using the machines and equipment in the weight room and cardio room combined.

Pilates**: This core muscle workout combines strength and flexibility with mind-body connectivity for the entire body.

QiGong*: Pronounced (CHEE-GONG), this exercise is gentle, with slow movement, deep breathing, and meditation.

Shape Up***: This will be a circuit based class that incorporates all the major muscles groups. Rotate week to week from upper body, lower body, and full body workouts. As the weeks go, the exercises and fitness levels will get more difficult.

Tabata***: This high-intensity interval training workout is designed to perform 20 seconds of exercise with 10 seconds of rest.
Wednesdays: 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., with Kelly
Total Abs**: Focuses on exercises that work your abdominal muscles and obliques.

Total Body Circuit**: Stations are set up and designed to focus on total body fitness training, cardio, and core strengthening.

Walk the Plank**: Ahoy Mateys! All aboard for a cardio and strength training workout that includes various forms of planking and walking. This class includes going up and down stairs.

Weight Training**: Increase strength and sculpt your whole body using the weight room resistance machines. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 to 9:45 a.m., with Nick
Yoga Stretch**: Postures are used to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation help to create full-body relaxation and balance.
Wednesdays 12:15-1:00 p.m., with Hannah
Yoga Release & Flow**: A variety of postures and Vinyasa movement that will strengthen your whole body and heighten your mind-body connection.
