Details of Myrtle Beach’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2008-09 are available in the files below. City Council is scheduled to consider first reading on the budget at its May 13 meeting. Two readings are required by July 1.
The proposed $139.1 million spending plan includes a three mill increase in the property tax rate, the first increase in five years. Three extra mills would cost the owner of a $250,000 home an additional $30 per year. Note: It may take a moment for each of these files to load, depending on your connection speed.
Details also are available on the City of Myrtle Beach's current budget, which totals $132.5 million. The city's current ad valorem (property) tax rate is 61.4 mills and has not been increased in several years.
