The Myrtle Beach Police Department acquired its first K-9 Unit in late 2001. Officer K. J. Mann was appointed the K-9 handler and is in charge of our black German Shepherd K-9 Recon. Since then, the department has acquired another K-9 by the name of Atos. Atos is a German Shepard and joined the force on May 13, 2003 and his handler is Officer Quintard Tucker.
