The Administrative Division is at our Police Annex building located at 3340 Mustang Street - Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The Administrative Division has several sections within the division. The Training Section provides professional skills and general educational support to all department personnel. Our SRO (School Resource Officers) have become a very important part of the schools they work in. They not only have become a resource for students, but for teachers and parents as well. The Office of Professional Standards is charged with the responsibility of maintaining the high standards and integrity of the Department. The Crime Prevention Unit develops programs designed to increase awareness of potential crime problems within the city. The Animal Control Section handles concerns regarding problem animals encountered by residents within the city. The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with businesses, organizations and individuals who request law enforcement personnel to work special events. Along with these sections, the Administrative Division is also home for the Citizens Police Academy. The Citizens Police Academy was created to provide our residents and business people with an opportunity to take a look at local law enforcement and allow participants to obtain a sense of how we serve them and the community.
