Myrtle Beach City Council members and senior city staff served lunch to several hundred people at the Community Kitchen on Tuesday.  City volunteers worked the serving line, fetched food, filled glasses and washed dishes.  The Community Kitchen serves a free breakfast and lunch each day to more than 300 people.  Much of the food is donated by area restaurants, grocery stores and wholesale retailers.  The kitchen's three staff members and dozens of community helpers then plan menus and prepare food for anyone who needs a good meal.  Customers sign in so the kitchen knows how many people are served each day.
