The weather didn't cooperate, but that didn't matter, as the annual Christmas Towne event at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center simply moved indoors.  Throughout the day, nearly 3,500 children and parents enjoyed more than two dozen activities, including photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus.  Fortunately, the rain let up in time for the tree lighting ceremony on the Plaza, officiated by Jingles the Elf.  For the first year, this free event was held on Sunday, to give everyone more time to enjoy the family holiday fun.  Christmas Towne is sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Myrtle Beach.
