Myrtle Beach celebrated Arbor Day with awards and tree plantings at Myrtle Beach Primary School, Monday, December 10. Students performed several songs, Mayor John Rhodes read a proclamation, the Community Appearance Board presented its annual landscaping and tree preservation awards, and city staff members who plant the trees and care for our urban forest were recognized for their service. Greenkeepers, a local group, presented a big donation to the city for additional trees, and Myrtle Beach received its 11th Tree City USA award from the South Carolina Forestry Commission.
