Myrtle Beach celebrated Arbor Day in a big way on Monday, December 7.  Activities at the Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA included delivery of a check from GreenKeepers for 52 trees and presentation of the annual Community Appearance Board awards to local businesses and properties.  A new section of the East Coast Greenway was named in honor of Bob Bell, a longtime member of the Myrtle Beach Planning Commission.  Children from the YMCA's after school program received awards for their drawings and poetry and presented a holiday greeting to the mayor.  Everyone then trooped outdoors to Barc Parc North to plant a new oak tree honoring Colonel and Mrs. Bell.  A second tree was planted later in honor of America's service men and women.
