Retired Air Force General Robert Reed and other former officers of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base recently spent a day looking through historical items and records that were packed up when the base closed in 1993. They are part of a city committee that's creating a series of historical markers and three museums to document the Air Force Base's contributions to Myrtle Beach. General Reed chairs the committee. Also pictured are Colonel Charlie Thrash, Chief Master Sergeant Bill Forbus, Lt. Colonel Bill Rutherford and Colonel Coupe DeVille. Not shown are Colonel Pancho Pasqualicchio and Colonel George Branch.
