Retired Air Force General Robert Reed and other former officers of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base recently spent a day looking through historical items and records that were packed up when the base closed in 1993. They are part of a city committee that's creating a series of historical markers and three museums to document the Air Force Base's contributions to Myrtle Beach. General Reed chairs the committee.
