Myrtle Beach welcomed everyone from Astronaut Buzz Aldrin to American Idol Jordin Sparks during the Memorial Day weekend.  Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, met with wounded warriors from Walter Reed Hospital and served as Grand Marshal for Saturday's big parade on Ocean Boulevard.  Sparks performed in concert Saturday night, capping off a day of free events downtown.  Military units also took part in the parade, then met the public at Grand Park during Military Appreciation Days.  In addition to concerts and military displays, Marines challenged civilians to chin-up contests, while veterans and families wrote prayers and best wishes to all who serve in the nation's armed forces.
