The Myrtle Beach City Council recognized dozens of young athletes for their successful seasons during this week's City Council meeting.  Those honored with proclamations for their accomplishments included Myrtle Beach High School wrestler Blake Holt, who won the South Carolina AAA Championship in the 135 pound weight class.  Council also honored the Myrtle Beach High School Girls Basketball Team for winning the South Carolina AAA Championship, the Myrtle Beach Recreation Program's Age 13-14 Boys All Star Basketball Team for winning the South Carolina Parks and Recreation 14-and-under State Championship, and the Myrtle Beach Recreation Program's Age 9-to-12 Girls All Star Basketball Team for winning the South Carolina Parks and Recreation 12-and-under Eastern District Championship and finishing as runner-up in the state championship.
