The Myrtle Beach Fire Department held a training session this week for members of the news media. Reporters experienced first-hand what it's like to enter a smoky building, don a hazardous materials suit, respond to an EMS call and wield the "jaws of life" to cut open a wrecked automobile. In the photos below, WPDE's Amanda Kinseth and WMBF's Matt Miller show off their skills with hydraulic tools, under firefighters' watchful eyes.
