About every 10 years, Myrtle Beach gets a measurable accumulation of snow, and that's when cameras start clicking. The city received four inches of powdery surprise late Friday and early Saturday, February 12 and 13, 2010. The weather forced the cancellation of the BI-LO Myrtle Beach Marathon due to safety concerns of all involved, but it made children and photographers very happy. Below are some snapshots taken around the community. The photo of the snow-covered entryway sign is by Royce Parrish. Diane Moskow-McKenzie captured the red cardinal on a snowy bough. Brenda Decker found the snowbound sight at Pepper Geddings Recreation Center. And the stunning lakeside scene is by Susan Peters-Hart. Enjoy! It may be another 10 years before we see snow.
