One of the best places to learn about Myrtle Beach’s 50-year military history is at Warbird Park on Farrow Parkway, as you enter the Market Common district from Kings Highway. The park features three Air Force planes on static display: The A-10 Warthog, the A-7D Corsair and the F-100 Super Sabre. All three were stationed at the Air Force Base and saw use during the Cold War, Vietnam and the Persian Gulf War. The park includes a Wall of Service, listing names of the men and women, both military and civilian, who were stationed at the base before closing in 1993.
