Corner Icon Pets on the beach?  From May 1 through Labor Day, dogs are allowed on the beach only before 10:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.  On the boardwalk from May 1 through Labor Day, dogs are allowed only in the mornings, from 5:00 to 10:00 a.m.  At all times when dogs are allowed in public, they must be on a leash of seven feet or shorter, and you must pick up and properly dispose of your pet's droppings.

Information for city services


The City of Myrtle Beach provides a number of on-line services and forms.  Customers may pay their utility bills on line, file a request for service, and even pay a parking meter violation via the Internet.  You also may call 918-1212 to pay utility bills with either Visa or MasterCard, or you may have your payment drafted directly from your checking account.  Call 918-1212 for details. 

The city also offers a number of on-line forms for business licenses and other fees, as well as for employment applications and special events.  The Uniform Grant Application Package is available for Accommodations Tax and outside-agency funding requests. 

Please visit the links below for more information.  Simply download the desired form, then complete, print and send the form to the appropriate address via the U.S. Postal Service or by fax to 843-918-1210.  At this time, the city does not accept e-mailed versions of these forms (with the exception of certain employment applications, as indicated).

The city has a number of facilities and venues suitable for family gatherings, receptions, parties and other events.  Locations include the Myrtle Beach Train Depot, Pepper Geddings Recreation Center (and pool), Mary C. Canty Recreation Center (and pool), the Base Recreation Center, Crabtree Memorial Gym and a variety of parks and picnic shelters.  Please visit the links below for specific rental applications and more information.  Just download the desired form, then complete, print and send the form to the address indicated.  A separate file is intended for Special Event Permit Applications. 

     The Planning Department formulates recommended goals, plans, policies and ordinances that provide orderly growth and development for Myrtle Beach.
Experienced planners are available to assist with rezoning, annexation, subdivision of property, park design and neighborhood planning.  The following applications and forms will be helpful.

     The Construction Services Department reviews and approves permits for residential and commercial construction.  Construction Services and the Community Appearance Board review and approve new signs.  The following procedures, schedules and forms apply.

     The city's Board of Zoning Appeals hears appeals from zoning decisions and considers requests for variances from zoning regulations.  The following forms are available.  Please be sure to read the application instructions.

The Myrtle Beach Fire Department offers the following ordinances, regulations, inspection reports for the safety and protection of your home or office.  For additional information or assistance with any of these documents, contact the Fire Marshal's Office at 843-918-1109.
