Did you know...? Myrtle Beach has four recreation centers, two indoor swimming pools, four indoor gymnasiums, two outdoor basketball courts, three weight and fitness rooms, 16 tennis courts, a skateboard park, a roller hockey rink, a golf course, a fitness trail, six youth ball fields, nine adult ball fields, six soccer fields, a football stadium, a minor league baseball stadium, a Miracle League field for children with disabilities, eight picnic shelters, 18 playgrounds and some 45 landscaped parks, not to mention nearly 10 miles of beach!

The Recreation Division is part of the city's Cultural and Leisure Services Department, which includes Parks, Recreation, Chapin Memorial Library, Whispering Pines Golf Course and the Building Maintenance Division.

Recreation center memberships and fees

Daily, monthly and annual membership or payment options are available for Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, Canal Street Recreation Center and Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium. Multi-use punch cards also are available for most programs. The current membership rate schedule is listed below.

Additional fees may be charged for specific programs and activities, such as youth sports or adult sports. Youth sports fees are $15 for in-city residents and $75 for out-of-city residents for each program. Since all of the city's recreation facilities are funded by city property taxes, residents of the city receive a discount on all charges.
