FIELD MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR – Recreation Services Department/Recreation Division. Manage and perform maintenance operations and activities of City Athletic Fields, Recreation Buildings, systems, equipment and related facilities. Manages and coordinates activities involving Athletic Field Operations and Facility Maintenance, supervise the staff, oversee and conducts maintenance inspections, perform minor repairs and does related work as required. Requires high school diploma or GED; supplemented by vocation/technical training in Field or Parks Management;  five (5) years previous experience that includes Golf Course, Parks, & Field Maintenance, Irrigation repairs or closely related field, minimum two (2) supervisory experience, be at least 18 years old and possess a  valid driver’s license.  Salary Range: $38,427 - $59,946/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., July 5, 2016.

 

TRAFFIC SIGNAL TECHNICIAN – Public Works Department/Traffic Engineering Division.  Perform technical work in the installing, maintenance, fabrication, and repairing of traffic signs, electronic systems and related components of traffic control devices, operates a personal computer, bucket truck or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, assists with signs and pavement markings and related work as required. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, (3) three years’ experience in electrical work, traffic signal repair or related field,  possess and maintain IMSA Level I and II Traffic Signal Certifications, on-call availability, be at least 18 years old and possess a Class D driver’s license. Salary Range: $36,926 - $57,605/year, plus benefits. Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., July 5, 2016.

 

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN – Public Works Department/Vehicle Maintenance Division. Maintenance and repair of the City’s gasoline-powered equipment and vehicles, inspects, tests and diagnose engine components and systems, such as ignition systems, computerized engine controls, electronic fuel injection system, etc. and other related duties as assigned.  Employee will be required to provide own tools. Job assignment may expire at the end of two (2) years. Requires high school education or equivalent supplemented by vocational/technical training in automotive repair, three (3) years’ experience in vehicle repair or maintenance, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Driver’s License. Salary Range:  $35,425 - $55,264/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., July 5, 2016.

 

RECREATION LEADER – Recreation Services Department/Base Recreation Center. Performs front desk duties answering phones, providing information, manage private rentals, meet with customers to book rentals and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, physical education or related field plus basic computer knowledge/skills, and great customer service skills, able to work evening hours and Saturdays, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Salary range: $30,921 - $48,238 year plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., July 5, 2016.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANTRecreation Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temporary/Part-Time. Duties include but are not limited to teaching Zumba, aerobic and fitness classes, working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, and assisting w/weight training. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; High School or equivalent; be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

POLICE OFFICERPolice Department.  Performs responsible protective service work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances with required related work. This position requires graduation from high school or GED equivalency, 21 years old to comply with SC Law Enforcement Council entrance requirements and possession of a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation. SC Criminal Justice Certification and experience as a Police Officer is preferred.  REQUIRED:  Completed Standard Application,  Supplemental Application  along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Physical Agility Test & Score Sheet, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire. Resumes accepted only with completed application package.  Starting Salary: $34,042/year, plus benefits (non-certified); $37,196/year, plus benefits (SC certified).  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., August 15, 2016.

 

CHAPIN LIBRARY SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE – Recreation Services/Chapin Memorial Library. Temporary/Part-Time. Performs work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere for Chapin Memorial Library and Chapin Park patrons.  Duties include but are not limited to assisting with informing and enforcing policies and procedures, patrolling areas to prevent disorderly conduct or to detect infractions of rules, preparing incident reports and securing the facility for non-operating hours. Must be able to work 10 -15 hours per week including Friday & Saturday. Requires high school education, strong customer service skills, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Security experience is preferred. Rate: $12.70/hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

GROUNDSKEEPER – Recreation Services Department/Recreation Division.  Ball Fields. Temporary/Part-Time.  Duties may include Ball field preparation, maintain landscapes; pulls weeds, prunes, weed eats; plant shrubs and flowers; picking up litter; services irrigation systems and other related duties as required. Must have the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, ability to work weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $10.10/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

SPORTS TOURISM ASSISTANT – Sports Tourism Dept./Athletic Venues.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Performs a variety of duties associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere and positive experience to Sports Tourism clients, customer, and the public, at sporting events and special events; collects & controls fees of guests entering venues, perform maintenance duties and other related duties as assigned. Requires High School education or equivalent, strong customer service skills, general knowledge of a variety of sports, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of hours including evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license. Males and Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

LIBRARY ASSISTANT - Chapin Memorial Library. Performs basic library functions at the Circulation Desk and other areas as needed under the direct supervision of the Library Circulation Supervisor.  Requires a basic knowledge of library procedure, the ability to work and communicate clearly with all ages, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of computers, and familiarity with the Internet. Requires ability to work nights and weekends, any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school, some general library work experience is preferred, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Salary Range: $26,418 - $41,212/ year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., June 27, 2016.
