CREW LEADER - CONCESSIONS Supervises and oversees the food service operation to provide concessions at the Recreation Athletic Complexes (Grand Park & Frank Beckham), Myrtle Beach Convention Center and Myrtle Beach Sports Center. Leads the crew which performs the preparation and sales of the food & beverage, ensures the staff cleans and sanitizes work stations according to DHEC codes, maintains and operates food service equipment, maintains inventory & supplies and other duties as assigned. Potentially up to 4 positions available.  Requires high school diploma or GED, two (2) years’ experience in food preparation and service, able to work weekends and evenings, point of sale system experience, be at last 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $36,245 - $56,265/ year, plus benefits.  Deadline to apply:  August 1, 2016 @ 5 p.m.

 

CONCESSIONS GENERAL MANAGERUnder limited supervision, performs managerial work in the planning, coordination and supervision of the food concessions at the Recreation Athletic Complexes (Grand Park & Frank Beckham), Myrtle Beach Convention Center and Myrtle Beach Sports Center.  Manage operational expenses, inventory and cost of sales of each revenue center to ensure compliance with budget, oversee staffing plans, train and manage the Crew Leaders and line staff, ensure compliance with regulatory agencies at the local and state level and other related work as required. Requires an Associate’s Degree to include one to five years’ experience in concessions operations, store management or related field, POS (point of sale system) experience, able to work weekends and evenings, be at least 21 years old and possess a  valid driver’s license.  Salary Range: $48,359 - $75,068/year, plus benefits.  Deadline to apply:  August 1, 2016 @ 5 p.m.

 

SPORTS TOURISM SUPERVISOR – Sports Tourism Dept. Responsible for assisting in the creation of gate admissions policies, procedures for outdoor athletic venues, implementing ticketing plan in 2017, supervising team members in operation of the ticketing plan, responsible for all aspects of live streaming service including tournament setup, game day execution and marketing service to tournament directs, teams and spectators and other related duties as assigned. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in sports management or related field supplemented by at least two (2) years progressive experience in retail sales, athletic facility management, sport marketing, ticketing and or live streaming, be at least 18 years old, and available to work evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license.  Salary Range: $37,976 - $58,951/year, plus benefits. ASSISTANT TENNIS PROFESSIONAL – Recreation Services Dept./Myrtle Beach Tennis Center. Temporary-Part/Time Position. Seeking a highly energetic, responsible tennis professional with tennis-teaching knowledge, as well as excellent communications skills.  Responsibilities include instruction of junior/adult programming, tournament preparation and operation of event and leading/assisting with special events.  New ideas regarding improvement and expansion of all programming and events will be widely accepted.  A NTRP of 4.0 or higher is necessary. Requires high school or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver license and PTR/USPTA is required within 6 months of date hired.  Rate: $12.67/Hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

CONVENTION SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE / ATTENDANTConvention Center. Temporary/Part-Time. Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere to Convention Center clients, customers, and public. Duties include but are not limited to controlling entry & traffic access to events, collects & controls fees of vehicles entering & leaving paid parking lot, assist event manager with event coordination, & may perform maintenance duties, such as setting up & tearing down for events, & keeping areas clean. Must be able to work varying shifts including, days, evenings, weekends & holidays; with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Requires HS education, strong customer service skills, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Males & Females are encouraged to apply. RECREATION ASSISTANT – Recreation Services Dept./Myrtle Beach Tennis Center.  Temporary-Part/Time. Responsibilities include front desk operations. Seeking a candidate who has excellent communication skills and has previously held an administrative position.  General knowledge of tennis is not required but preferred.  Tasks include open/close the facility, check in all members/non-members, minimal computer operations with RecPro, tennis court maintenance, assist in all club special events and maintain cleanliness of facility grounds and other related duties as assigned. Prefer CPR Certified.  Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups. Requires High School diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and be able to work nights, weekends and a variety of shifts. Rate:  $10.10/Hour.   No benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANTRecreation Services Dept./Crabtree Gym-Adult Sports.  Temporary/Part-Time Position.  Duties include, but are not limited to league practice and play supervision; answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and light maintenance of sports areas and assist in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Requires knowledge and experience in a variety of public recreational sports such as flag football, basketball, kickball, dodge ball and softball, able to work evenings, high school education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver license.  Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT – Recreation Services Dept./Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.  Temporary/Part-Time Position. Duties include, but are not limited to answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and cleaning work area, monitoring gym or weight room, teaching fitness classes, leading programs or coaching sports & recreation  and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Requires knowledge of a variety of public recreational activities, high school education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver license.  Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANTRecreation Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temporary/Part-Time. Duties include but are not limited to teaching Zumba, aerobic and fitness classes, working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, and assisting w/weight training. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; High School or equivalent; be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

POLICE OFFICERPolice Department.  Performs responsible protective service work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances with required related work. This position requires graduation from high school or GED equivalency, 21 years old to comply with SC Law Enforcement Council entrance requirements and possession of a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation. SC Criminal Justice Certification and experience as a Police Officer is preferred.  REQUIRED:  Completed Standard Application,  Supplemental Application  along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Physical Agility Test & Score Sheet, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire. CHAPIN LIBRARY SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE – Recreation Services/Chapin Memorial Library. Temporary/Part-Time. Performs work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere for Chapin Memorial Library and Chapin Park patrons.  Duties include but are not limited to assisting with informing and enforcing policies and procedures, patrolling areas to prevent disorderly conduct or to detect infractions of rules, preparing incident reports and securing the facility for non-operating hours. Must be able to work 10 -15 hours per week including Friday & Saturday. Requires high school education, strong customer service skills, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Security experience is preferred. Rate: $12.70/hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

SPORTS TOURISM ASSISTANT – Sports Tourism Dept./Athletic Venues.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Performs a variety of duties associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere and positive experience to Sports Tourism clients, customer, and the public, at sporting events and special events; collects & controls fees of guests entering venues, perform maintenance duties and other related duties as assigned. Requires High School education or equivalent, strong customer service skills, general knowledge of a variety of sports, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of hours including evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license.
