TRAFFIC SIGNAL TECHNICIAN – Public Works Department/Traffic Engineering Division.  Perform technical work in the installing, maintenance, fabrication, and repairing of traffic signs, electronic systems and related components of traffic control devices, operates a personal computer, bucket truck or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, assists with signs and pavement markings and related work as required. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, (3) three years’ experience in electrical work, traffic signal repair or related field,  possess and maintain IMSA Level I and II Traffic Signal Certifications, on-call availability, be at least 18 years old and possess a Class D driver’s license. Salary Range: $36,926 - $57,605/year, plus benefits. Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., June 1, 2015.

 

CONVENTION SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE/ATTENDANT – Convention Center. Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere to Convention Center clients, customers, and public. Duties include but are not limited to controlling entry and traffic access to events, collects and controls fees of vehicles entering and leaving paid parking lot, assist event manager with event coordination, and may perform maintenance duties, such as setting up and tearing down for events, and keeping areas clean. Must be able to work varying shifts including, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, strong customer service skills, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Males & Females are encouraged to apply. Salary Range: $26,418 - $41,212/year, plus benefits.

RECREATION LEADER – Recreation Services Department/Crabtree Recreation Center. Responsibilities will include organizing and teaching fitness programs, instructional programs and special events, front desk duties; assists in or reports basic maintenance; oversees duties of evening part-time employees; prepares daily balance reports and assist in all area of the Recreation Division as needed. Great customer service skills is a must.  Working knowledge of ReCPro Recreation Software preferred. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, physical education or related field, be able to work flexible evenings, weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Salary Range:  $30,921 - $48,238/year, plus benefits.   Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., May 26, 2015.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT – Sports Tourism Dept. Temporary/Part-Time.  Duties include but are not limited to providing assistance to tournament directors, assisting players and spectators with questions, assisting maintenance staff with field set ups and perform other related duties as required. Familiarity with a variety of sports is desirable, as well as experience working with the public.  Requires High School education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of hours including evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICES OFFICER – Police Department.  Assist certified officers in enforcing state and local laws and ordinances. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with patrolling areas of the City to detect quality of life issues (littering, junk, and obstructions), directs traffic and performs school crossing duties, respond to the needs of the general public and specific assignments as assigned. This position requires graduation from high school or GED, must be at least 18 and possess a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation. No previous experience is required.  REQUIRED: Completed Standard Application, Supplemental application along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire.  Resumes accepted only with completed application package. RECREATION ASSISTANT – Recreation Services Department/ Recreation Division. Canal Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time Position.  Duties include, but are not limited to:  answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and cleaning work area, teaches fitness classes and youth recreation programs, and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Must be able to lift 50lb regularly this position involves setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for functions of 200 + throughout the week and during weekend rentals.   Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationship with citizens of all age groups. Must have a high school education, be able to work evenings & weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid DL.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No benefits. Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT Cultural & Leisure Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temporary/Part-Time. Duties include but are not limited to teaching Zumba, teaching group cycling, teaching aerobic and fitness classes, working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, and assisting w/weight training. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; High School or equivalent; be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

TRADES WORKER Convention Center. Temporary-Part/Time.  Performs electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry duties for trade shows and conventions. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, strong electrical experience is preferred, be able to perform manual labor for extended periods of time, no set hours and weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver license.  Rate: $12.61/hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled. 

 

SWIM INSTRUCTOR Cultural & Leisure Services Department / Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Looking for a high energy, safety conscious person with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Duties include, but are not limited to; Swim Coach-instructing and supervising practices, creating daily workouts, and making/answering phone calls.  Responsible for teaching swimming skills to all ages. Requires water safety instructor certification; be at least 17 years old, and must be available to work a variety of hours including weekends. Rate:  $11.14/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled. 

 

LIFEGUARDCultural and Leisure Services Department/Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center.  Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license and available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. Rate:  $10.10/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.
