RECREATION ASSISTANT C&L Services Department/Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.  Temporary-Part/Time Position. Looking for high energy, assertive individuals able to multi-task at busy front desk area as well as instruct fitness classes, drills and games.  Duties include, but are not limited to, answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees; cleaning work area; monitoring gym or leading drills; teaching fitness classes; planning, programming and teaching sports activities and leagues.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups.  Requires knowledge of a variety of public recreational activities, ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups, love for kids, HS Diploma or equiv., be at least 18 years old and valid driver’s license. ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER Perform managerial and administrative work to assist in the oversight of the daily operations of the City government.  Reports to the City Manager.  Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff; processing employee concerns and problems; directing work, counseling and disciplining; establishes long range plans, goals and objectives; works with department heads; and ensures programs, services and systems support City goals and objectives.  Successful candidate will possess strong leadership and customer service skills along with innovative and strong communication abilities.  Requires Master’s degree in public administration; ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in local government; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job; be at least 18 years old; possess and maintain a valid SC driver’s license.  Cover letter and resume including present salary is requested. Salary Range:  $95,704 – $130,000/yr- DOQ, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., December 5, 2014.

TRADES WORKER Convention Center. Temporary-Part/Time.  Performs electrical, painting, plumbing and carpentry duties for trade shows and conventions. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, strong electrical experience is preferred, be able to perform manual labor for extended periods of time, no set hours and weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver license.  Rate: $12.61/hour. RECREATION ASSISTANT Cultural & Leisure Services Department/ Recreation Division. Canal Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time Position.  Looking for high energy, assertive individual able to multitask at busy front desk area. Duties include, but are not limited to:  answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and cleaning work area, teaches fitness classes and youth recreation programs, and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Must be able to lift 50lb regularly this position involves setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for functions of 200 + throughout the week and during weekend rentals.   Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationship with citizens of all age groups. Must have a high school education, be able to work evenings & weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid DL.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No benefits. LIFEGUARDCultural and Leisure Services Department/Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center.  Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license and available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. Rate:  $10.10/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.

INSTRUCTOR II C&L Services Department/Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.  Temporary-Part/Time Positions.  Looking for high energy, assertive individuals able to lead a variety of public recreational and fitness activities.  Duties include, but are not limited to, instructing fitness classes and coaching new members towards personal health and fitness goals.  Group instruction experience and current certifications in multiple fitness genres and CPR Certification preferred.  Requires knowledge of computers and ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups.  Rate: $12.67/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.
