POLICE OFFICER Police Department.  Performs responsible protective service work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances with required related work. This position requires graduation from high school or GED equivalency, 21 years old to comply with SC Law Enforcement Council entrance requirements and possession of a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation. SC Criminal Justice Certification and experience as a Police Officer is preferred.  REQUIRED:  Completed Standard Application, Supplemental Application along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Physical Agility Test & Score Sheet, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire. Resumes accepted only with completed application package.  Starting Salary: $34,042/year, plus benefits (non-certified); $37,196/year, plus benefits (SC certified).  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., August 10, 2015. 

 

COMMUNITY SERVICES OFFICER Police Department.  Assist certified officers in enforcing state and local laws and ordinances. Duties include but are not limited to assisting with patrolling areas of the City to detect quality of life issues (littering, junk and obstructions), directs traffic and performs school crossing duties, respond to the needs of the general public and specific assignments as assigned. This position requires graduation from high school or GED, must be at least 18 and possess a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation. No previous experience is required.  REQUIRED: Completed Standard Application, Supplemental application along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire.  Resumes accepted only with completed application package. Starting Salary: $24,825/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., August 10, 2015.

 

MAINTENANCE WORKERConvention Center.   Performs a variety of building and grounds maintenance work. Must have knowledge of and ability to use common building maintenance and cleaning materials, equipment and methods.  Duties include general housekeeping, maintaining building cleanliness and attractiveness, setting up and tearing down for events and assisting others in performing various routine tasks. Requires High School education or equivalent, some experience in performing related cleaning/maintenance work, be at least 18 years old, work varying shifts including weekends, holidays and possess a valid driver’s license. Both Males & Females are encouraged to apply. Salary Range: $26,418 - $41,282/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., August 3, 2015.

 

MAINTENANCE WORKER-TEMP Temporary/Part-Time position for general employment pool of custodial and semi-skilled applicants to perform various types of   building maintenance and/or ground maintenance at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.  Duties include general housekeeping, maintenance, stage and room set-ups, electrical and/or general landscaping, mowing, raking, edging, planting, picking up litter, etc.  Requires High School education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old and available to work all shifts, hours, Monday – Sunday. Both Males and Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $11.70/hr. No benefits. Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., August 3, 2015.

 

MAINTENANCE WORKER-TEMP Temporary/Part-Time position for cleaning/set up crew at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Duties include  cleaning floors, restrooms, office spaces, exhibit and meeting spaces, reset furniture in inside and outside public spaces, empty, clean, and relocate trash receptacles, clean windows, doors, and walls as needed, clear loading dock of all trash, organize equipment and supplies daily, and performs other related duties as required. Requires High School education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, available to work 3rd shift, Sunday – Thursday. Both Males and Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $11.70/hr. RECREATION ASSISTANTSports Tourism Dept. Temporary/Part-Time.  Duties include but are not limited to providing assistance to tournament directors, assisting players and spectators with questions, assisting maintenance staff with field set ups and perform other related duties as required. Familiarity with a variety of sports is desirable, as well as experience working with the public.  Requires High School education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of hours including evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT Recreation Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temporary/Part-Time. Duties include but are not limited to teaching Zumba, teaching group cycling, teaching aerobic and fitness classes, working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, and assisting w/weight training. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; high school or equivalent; be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

SWIM   INSTRUCTOR Recreation Services Dept./Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Looking for a high energy, safety conscious person with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Duties include, but are not limited to; Swim Coach-instructing and supervising practices, creating daily workouts, and making/answering phone calls.  Responsible for teaching swimming skills to all ages. Requires water safety instructor certification; be at least 17 years old, and must be available to work a variety of hours including weekends. Rate: $11.14/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

LIFEGUARD Recreation Services Dept./Aquatics Division. Temporary/Part-Time. Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center. Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license & available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.
