RECREATION ASSISTANT – Sports Tourism Dept. Temporary/Part-Time.  Duties include but are not limited to providing assistance to tournament directors, assisting players and spectators with questions, assisting maintenance staff with field set ups and perform other related duties as required. Familiarity with a variety of sports is desirable, as well as experience working with the public.  Requires High School education or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of hours including evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT – Recreation Services Department/ Recreation Division. Canal Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time Position.  Duties include, but are not limited to:  answering telephone; registering patrons; collecting fees and cleaning work area, teaches fitness classes and youth recreation programs, and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Must be able to lift 50lb regularly this position involves setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for functions of 200 + throughout the week and during weekend rentals.   Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationship with citizens of all age groups. Must have a high school education, be able to work evenings & weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid DL.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No benefits. Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT Cultural & Leisure Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temporary/Part-Time. Duties include but are not limited to teaching Zumba, teaching group cycling, teaching aerobic and fitness classes, working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, and assisting w/weight training. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; High School or equivalent; be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

SWIM INSTRUCTOR Cultural & Leisure Services Department / Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Looking for a high energy, safety conscious person with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Duties include, but are not limited to; Swim Coach-instructing and supervising practices, creating daily workouts, and making/answering phone calls.  Responsible for teaching swimming skills to all ages. Requires water safety instructor certification; be at least 17 years old, and must be available to work a variety of hours including weekends. Rate:  $11.14/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled. 

 

LIFEGUARDCultural and Leisure Services Department/Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center.  Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license and available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. Rate:  $10.10/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.

 

PLANNING DIRECTOR Department head level position providing leadership and direction to the Planning Department, and advising the Planning Commission and City Council on planning and development matters.  Consults with City officials;  oversees the development of capital improvement projects; interprets and applies City comprehensive plan; develops and implements departmental budget, long and short term goals; compiles and analyzes data pertaining to City socio-economic conditions for use in urban planning and other related duties as assigned.  Reports to Assistant City Manager.  Successful candidate will be a visionary leader, a team builder/player, and also able to assist the City Council to articulate its vision for the community and work with residents, other staff, business owners, the development community and other stakeholders to achieve this vision.  Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in urban planning, architecture or closely related field; AICPA Certification preferred; 10 years of progressively  responsible management experience in professional planning and management; possess a valid driver’s license.  Salary Range: $83,173 – $129,752; hiring Range:  $83,173 - $100,000/ year, plus benefits (salary history must be provided).  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., July 7, 2015.
