FACILITIES ENGINEER TECHNICIAN Convention Center.  Duties include but are not limited to setting up equipment and electrical components for Convention/Trade Show; installs microphones and sound equipment; installs, repairs and maintains electrical systems, wireless internet,  schedules and maintains HVAC,  assists with painting, plumbing, carpentry, door repairs and collects payments from vendors providing electrical services. Must be able to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.  Journeyman Electrical License is a plus. Requires High School education or equivalent, experience in building maintenance, customer service or related field, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $33,923 - $52,921/year, plus benefits. Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., September 8, 2014.

W/S MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, SR Public Works Department/ Construction Division.  Repairs and maintains water and sewer lines, meters and hydrants, plus related duties as assigned.  Must possess ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school and some experience as a laborer in the maintenance, repair, and/or construction of utility lines, be at least 18 years old and a valid commercial driver’s license is preferred.  Salary Range: $30,921 - $48,238/ year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., September 8, 2014.

LINE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN PW Dept./Sewer Div.  Operates Vactor Truck which cleans sewer lines and maintains flow, inspect sewer manholes; perform smoke and dye tests, and control traffic at work sites; may be required to work overtime and/or be on call.  Requires education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, have mechanical aptitude, be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid commercial driver’s license. Salary Range: $30,921 - $48,238/yearly, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., September 8, 2014.

INSTRUCTOR II C&L Services Department/Pepper Geddings Recreation Center.  Temporary-Part/Time Positions.  Looking for high energy, assertive individuals able to lead a variety of public recreational and fitness activities.  Duties include, but are not limited to, instructing fitness classes and coaching new members towards personal health and fitness goals.  Group instruction experience and current certifications in multiple fitness genres and CPR Certification preferred.  Requires knowledge of computers and ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups.  Rate: $12.67/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

BUILDING INSPECTOR Construction Services Department.  Conducts field inspections for code compliance of residential, multi family and/or commercial structures including building, electrical, framing, footing/slabs, HVAC, plumbing, insulation, and other related duties as required.  Requires a Vocational/Technical Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing Systems, Construction or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience in building inspection, code enforcement, construction or related field, be at least 18 years old and valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $41,430 - $64,631/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., September 8, 2014.

PERMIT TECHNICIAN Construction Services Dept. Temporary/Part-Time.  Performs customer service functions by telephone and in person, process inspection requests, permit applications and other construction work requiring permits. Must have the ability to operate standard office, data entry and word processing equipment, and possess the ability to type, data entry and have knowledge of Microsoft Windows.  Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school including or supplemented by courses in basic computer and business, some clerical experience, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $14.14/hr. No Benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., September 2, 2014.

MAINTENANCE WORKER/TEMP Temporary/Part-Time position for general employment pool of custodial and semi-skilled applicants to perform various types of   building maintenance and/or ground maintenance at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.  Duties include general housekeeping, maintenance, stage and room set-ups, electrical and/or general landscaping, mowing, raking, edging, planting, picking up litter, etc. Must be at least 18 years old and available to work all shifts, hours, Monday – Sunday. Both Males and Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $11.70/hr. No benefits. Position open until filled.

LIFEGUARD Cultural & Leisure Services Department/ Recreation Division.  Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center. Temporary/Part-Time positions.   Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license and available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

SWIM INSTRUCTOR Cultural and Leisure Services Department/Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time position. Looking for a high energy, safety conscious person with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Duties include, but are not limited to; Swim Coach-instructing and supervising practices, creating daily workouts, and making/answering phone calls.  Responsible for teaching swimming skills to all ages. Requires water safety instructor certification; be at least 17 years old, valid driver’s license and must be available to work a variety of hours including weekends.  Rate:  $11.14/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.
