INSTRUCTOR II – Recreation Services Dept./Crabtree Gym.  Temporary-Part/Time.  Looking for high energy assertive individuals able to lead a variety of public recreational & fitness activities.  Duties include, but are not limited to teaching Yoga, Group Cycling, Zumba and other fitness activities. Group instruction experience & certification in multiple fitness genres & CPR Certification preferred.  Requires knowledge of computers and the ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $12.67/Hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

ASSISTANT TENNIS PROFESSIONAL – Recreation Services Dept./Myrtle Beach Tennis Center. Temporary/Part-Time Position. Seeking a highly energetic, responsible tennis professional with tennis-teaching knowledge, as well as excellent communications skills.  Responsibilities include instruction of junior/adult programming, tournament preparation and operation of event and leading/assisting with special events.  New ideas regarding improvement and expansion of all programming and events will be widely accepted.  A NTRP of 4.0 or higher is necessary. Requires high school or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, possess a valid driver license and PTR/USPTA is required within 6 months of date hired.  Rate: $12.67/Hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT – Recreation Services Dept./Myrtle Beach Tennis Center. Temporary-Part/Time. Responsibilities include front desk operations. Seeking a candidate who has excellent communication skills and has previously held an administrative position. General knowledge of tennis is not required but preferred. Tasks include open/close the facility, check in all members/non-members, minimal computer operations with RecPro, tennis court maintenance, assist in all club special events and maintain cleanliness of facility grounds and other related duties as assigned. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationships with citizens of all age groups. Requires High School diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license and be able to work nights, weekends and a variety of shifts. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No benefits. Position open until filled.

 

GROUNDSKEEPER – Public Works Department. / Parks Division. Temporary/Part-Time Position.  Requires some experience in basic grounds maintenance and/or picking up litter. Duties may include general grounds maintenance duties, beach & board walk clean up, litter control and other related duties as assigned. Must be able to work at a steady pace in adverse weather conditions; be dependable; operate small power equipment and follow specific oral instructions. Requires being able to work various shifts, including 3 AM shift, weekends & holidays, able to work 40 hours per week until the Fall and must be at least 18 years old. Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled. 

 

CONVENTION SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE / ATTENDANTConvention Center. Temporary/Part-Time. Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere to Convention Center clients, customers, and public. Duties include but are not limited to controlling entry & traffic access to events, collects & controls fees of vehicles entering & leaving paid parking lot, assist event manager with event coordination, & may perform maintenance duties, such as setting up & tearing down for events, & keeping areas clean. Must be able to work varying shifts including, days, evenings, weekends & holidays; with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Requires HS education, strong customer service skills, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Males & Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $12.70/Hour. No Benefits. POLICE OFFICERPolice Department.  Performs responsible protective service work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances with required related work.  This position requires graduation from high school or GED equivalency, 21 years old to comply with SC Law Enforcement Council entrance requirements and possession of a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation.  SC Criminal Justice Certification and experience as a Police Officer is preferred.  REQUIRED:  Completed Standard Application, Supplemental Application along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Physical Agility Test & Score Sheet, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire.  Resumes accepted only with completed application package.  Starting Salary:  $36,245/year, plus benefits (non-certified); $39,706/year, plus benefits (SC certified).  Deadline to apply:  September 25, 2017 @ 5:00 p.m.

 

RECREATION ASSISTANT – Recreation Services Department.  Mary C. Canty Recreation Center.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Duties include, but are not limited to front desk duties; answering phones; registering patrons; provide information, member and daily use sales transactions, register participants for programs, balance cash drawer, maintains order in facility, conduct fitness classes for youth, adults, seniors and assists in all areas of the Recreation Division as needed.  Prefer CPR Certified.  Must be able to lift 25lb regularly-this position involves setting up and breaking down tables and chairs for functions of 200 + throughout the week and during weekend rentals.  Requires knowledge of computers and a variety of public recreational activities and ability to maintain effective relationship with citizens of all age groups.  Must have a high school education, be able to work evenings & weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

SPORTS TOURISM ASSISTANT – Sports Tourism.  Outdoor Athletic Venues.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a positive experience to Sports Tourism rights holders and guests.  Duties included but are not limited to controlling entry & access to events, collects & controls fees of guests entering venues, interview guests and collect survey data, assist with sponsorship activations, assist event supervisor with event set up and break down along with other related duties as assigned.  Requires High School education or equivalent, strong customer service skills, general knowledge of a variety of sports, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of and possess a valid driver’s license.  Males and females are encouraged to apply.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

CONCESSIONS SERVICES CONCESSIONS ATTENDANTSports Tourism & Convention Center.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to guests, clients and staff.  Duties include but are not limited to taking and fulfilling customer orders, operating cash register, operating cooking equipment and maintaining a clean workstation.  Requires graduation from high school, strong customer service skills, at least 16 years of age, valid driver’s license and able to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays with no minimum number of hours guaranteed.  Rate of Pay:  $10.10/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.

 

MAINTENANCE WORKER/TEMP – Convention Center.  Temporary/Part-Time position for general employment pool of custodial and semi-skilled applicants to perform various types of   building maintenance and/or ground maintenance.  Duties include general housekeeping, maintenance, stage and room set-ups, electrical and/or general landscaping, mowing, raking, edging, planting, picking up litter, etc.  Must be at least 18 years old and available to work all shifts, weekends, nights and holidays.  Both Males and females are encouraged to apply.  Rate:  $11.70/hour.  No benefits.  Position open until filled. 

 

LIFEGUARD – Recreation Services Dept./Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Mary C. Canty Recreation Center.  Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license & available to work a variety of hours including evenings, weekends.  Rate:  $10.10/hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.
