ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – Planning Department.  Provides administrative support to the Planning Department.  Performs skilled work in a variety of clerical tasks to include managing the front desk, process invoices for payment, maintain records, and other duties as assigned. Requires high school or equivalent, plus college level coursework in business administration, bookkeeping, office technology and computers; three (3) years of experience in office administration and clerical work, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $33,923 - $52,921/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 pm., May 2, 2016.


SOLID WASTE WORKER – Public Works Department/Solid Waste Division.  Performs maintenance tasks related to solid waste collection, picks up, loads, hauls and unloads debris and refuse.  Must be able to work at a steady pace in adverse weather conditions, be dependable, and follow specific oral instructions. Requires high school or equivalent, some experience in the performance of heavy manual work, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  SC Commercial driver’s license is preferred.  Salary Range: $26,418 - $41,212/year, plus benefits Application deadline:  5:00 pm., May 2, 2016.


POLICE OFFICERPolice Department.  Performs responsible protective service work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances with required related work. This position requires graduation from high school or GED equivalency, 21 years old to comply with SC Law Enforcement Council entrance requirements and possession of a valid driver’s license.  It also requires a thorough background investigation. SC Criminal Justice Certification and experience as a Police Officer is preferred.  REQUIRED:  Completed Standard Application,  Supplemental Application  along with required documents as outlined in the document section, Statement of Honesty, Physical Agility Test & Score Sheet, Authorization to Release Information Form, and Personal History Questionnaire. Resumes accepted only with completed application package.  Starting Salary: $34,042/year, plus benefits (non-certified); $37,196/year, plus benefits (SC certified). SOLID WASTE SUPERINTENDENT – Public Works Department/Solid Waste Division. Performs supervisory and administrative work overseeing the operation of the City’s Solid Waste Management program; supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, coordinates the daily collection and recycling of residential and commercial customers; ensures compliance of all state and local regulations and requirements as related to solid waste; receives and responds to issues/concerns from residents and customers and other related duties as assigned. Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with course work in solid waste management or related field; five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in solid waste management; be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $54,189 - $84,535/year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 pm., May 16, 2016.


SPORTS TOURISM ASSISTANT Sports Tourism Dept./Athletic Venues.  Temporary/Part-Time.  Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere and positive experience to Sports Tourism clients, customer, and the public, collects & controls fees of guests entering venues, perform maintenance duties and other related duties as assigned. Requires High School education or equivalent, strong customer service skills, general knowledge of a variety of sports, be at least 18 years old, available to work a variety of hours including evenings/weekends and possess a valid driver’s license. Males and Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.


SWIM INSTRUCTOR – Recreation Services Department/Aquatics Division.  Temporary/Part-Time. Looking for a high energy, safety conscious person with knowledge of competitive swimming.  Duties include, but are not limited to; Swim Coach-instructing and supervising practices, creating daily workouts, and making/answering phone calls.  Responsible for teaching swimming skills to all ages. Requires American Red Cross water safety instructor certification; be at least 18 years old, and must be available to work a variety of hours including weekends. Rate:  $11.14/hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.


LIFEGUARD Recreation Services Department/Aquatics Division. Temporary/Part-Time. Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Mary C. Canty Recreation Center. Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends. Rate:  $10.10/Hour.  No Benefits.  Position open until filled.
