The City of Myrtle Beach has the following job openings for the week of August 30, 2015. The Human Resources Department is in the City Services Building, 921A Oak Street. The mailing address is P. O. LIBRARY ASSISTANT Chapin Memorial Library. Performs basic library functions at the Circulation Desk and other areas as needed under the direct supervision of the Library Circulation Supervisor.  Requires a basic knowledge of library procedure, the ability to work and communicate clearly with all ages, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of computers, and familiarity with the Internet. Requires ability to work nights and weekends, any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school, some general library work experience is preferred, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Salary Range: $26,418 - $41,212/ year, plus benefits.  Application deadline:  5:00 p.m., September 8, 2015. 


GROUNDSKEEPER Recreation Services Department/Recreation Division.  Ball Fields. Temporary/Part-Time.  Duties may include Ball field preparation, maintain landscapes; pulls weeds, prunes, weed eats; plant shrubs and flowers; picking up litter and other related duties as required. Must have the ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, ability to work weekends, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.  Rate: $10.10/hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.


CONVENTION SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE / ATTENDANT Convention Center. Temporary/Part-Time. Performs generalized/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient services to ensure a safe atmosphere to Convention Center clients, customers, and public. Duties include but are not limited to controlling entry & traffic access to events, collects & controls fees of vehicles entering & leaving paid parking lot, assist event manager with event coordination, & may perform maintenance duties, such as setting up & tearing down for events, & keeping areas clean. Must be able to work varying shifts including, days, evenings, weekends & holidays; with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Requires HS education, strong customer service skills, be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license. Males & Females are encouraged to apply. Rate: $12.70/hour. No Benefits.  Position open until filled.


LIFEGUARD Recreation Services Dept./Aquatics Div. Temporary/Part-Time. Pepper Geddings Recreation Center/Canal Street Recreation Center. Requires current lifeguard certification, be at least 16 years old, valid driver’s license & available to work 6:00 am – 4:00 pm and including weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.


RECREATION ASSISTANT Recreation Services Dept./Crabtree Gym. Temporary/Part-Time. Duties include but are not limited to teaching Zumba, teaching group cycling, teaching aerobic and fitness classes, working a busy front desk, monitoring the gym, and assisting w/weight training. Prefer CPR Certified. Requires knowledge of computers & a variety of public recreational activities; high school or equivalent; be at least 18 years old, valid driver’s license & be able to work mornings or nights & weekends. Rate: $10.10/Hour. No Benefits. Position open until filled.
