Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, corner of Oak Street and 33rd Avenue North, features a well equipped weight room with free weights and machines; a cardio room with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair climbers and more; an indoor track; a 25-yard swimming pool with six lanes and diving boards; a shallow pool; and two gymnasiums equipped with eight basketball goals, pickleball and volleyball equipment, and a number of other functions. Open Play Volleyball on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. -3:30 p.m. Open to all players and anyone who enjoys the game. Free for members, $3 for seniors, $5 for adults.
The City of Myrtle Beach and Pepper Geddings Recreation Center proudly presents Healthy Heroes. A FREE fitness program for Veterans and/or active military. Participants of all ages and abilities will enjoy an hour-long workout with a group fitness instructor, who will work to improve overall health and fitness and help to join everyone together as a local community of fellow heroes.

Pepper Geddings also offers a Start Smart program for children, ages three to six. The program is designed to prepare young children for organized sports.
Start Smart – Preschool Sports Readiness Program is a proven instructional program that prepares children for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn all of the basic skills…throwing, catching & kicking.

6:00 to 7:00 p.m., each Wednesday
Children ages 6 to 10 will enjoy fun and creative art projects. Students will have the opportunity to use watercolor paint, markers, pencils, and other art utensils. No experience or supplies needed.

Skate Safe Skateboarding Lessons
September 12- November 7, each Wednesday
Beginner level: 3:00 to 3:45 p.m.
Intermediate level skate: 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.
Location: The New Matt Hughes Skatepark
Children ages 5 through 11 will learn the basics of skateboarding from a long time skateboarding and sports coach. Techniques like ollies, tic-tacs, frontside/backside turns, mannys and more! Helmet and skateboard required. Knee and elbow pads are optional.
Fees: $15 for City Residents / $25 for Non-City Residents
City Spiker Girls Volleyball
September 17- November 7
Girls ages 8 through 11: 4:30- 5:45p.m.
Girls ages 12 through 18: 5:45- 7:00p.m.
Location: The Myrtle Beach Sports Center (behind the Convention Center on Oak Street)
Weekly instruction and league play by age groups. All practices and games located at the Myrtle Beach Sports Complex. Volleyball jersey included. Knee pads are optional.
Fees: $15.00 for City Residents/$50.00 for Non-City Residents.
STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in a Recreation Atmosphere

Kids will be introduced to a blended learning environment showing students how the scientific method can be applied to everyday life. STEM also teaches students computational thinking and focuses on the real world applications of problem-solving.

Myrtle Beach Dune Warrior Lacrosse
Starts on September 25; each Tuesday and Thursday

Get your 24-visit punch card at the front desk. Punch cards cost $28 for city residents or $50 for non-city residents. The card allows 24 visits to any of the following classes listed below. The Fitness Punch Cards can be used at all city recreation facilities and do not expire. City residents pay $4 per class and non-city residents pay $10 per class.
