Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, corner of Oak Street and 33rd Avenue North, features a well equipped weight room with free weights and machines; a cardio room with treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, stair climbers and more; an indoor track; a 25-yard swimming pool with six lanes and diving boards; a shallow pool; and two gymnasiums equipped with eight basketball goals, pickleball and volleyball equipment, and a number of other functions.  For more information, call 843-918-2280 or come by the center!

Healthy  Heroes  

 The City of Myrtle Beach and Pepper Geddings Recreation Center proudly presents Healthy Heroes. A FREE fitness program for Veterans and/or active military. Participants of all ages and abilities will enjoy an hour-long workout with a group fitness instructor, who will work to improve overall health and fitness and help to join everyone together as a local community of fellow heroes.

Class Details:
Every Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
September 1st through November 3rd


Youth sports, after-school youth programs, and special events also are available.  Choose from annual, monthly or daily membership options.  Printable flyers of the Fitness Class Schedule are available.  Registration for 2018 Sports and Fitness Camps begins Monday, April 2, 2018. 

Pepper Geddings also offers a Start Smart program for children, ages three to six.  The program is designed to prepare young children for organized sports.  Also, check out the list of 2018 Spring Programs.

Adult Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Dance Lessons
Learn basic dance techniques and choreography for a dance showcase performance.  Previous dance experience is not needed.  Ballet and Tap shoes are suggested, and pre-registration is required. Classes meet on Monday, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  The fee is $25.00 for City Residents and $45.00 for Non-City Residents.

Kids Ballet, Tap, and Jazz Dance Lessons
Kids in K through 5th grades learn basic dance/movement techniques and choreography for a dance showcase.  No previous dance experience is needed.  Ballet and Tap shoes suggested, and pre-registration is required.  Kids in K through second grades meet Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Third through Fifth graders meet on Thursday, 4:00 to 5:15 p.m.  Fee is $25.00 for City Residents and $45.00 for Non-City Residents.

Creative Movement Lessons
Kids, ages three to four years old, have fun moving and dancing in this beginner class.  An intro to Ballet and Tap dance techniques is included.  No previous dance experience needed.  Ballet and Tap shoes suggested, and pre-registration is required.  The class meets on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Fee is $15.00 for City Residents and $25.00 for Non-City Residents.


The following classes are part of our fitness schedule!  All classes are held at the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, 3205 Oak Street.

Get your 24-visit punch card at the front desk.  Punch cards cost $28 for city residents or $50 for non-city residents.  The card allows 24 visits to any of the following classes listed below.  The Fitness Punch Cards can be used at all city recreation facilities and do not expire.  City residents pay $4 per class and non-city residents pay $10 per class.   All classes are held at the Pepper Geddings Recreation Center, 3205 Oak Street.

B Fit**:  A fun, muscle toning interval class that uses balls, bars, kettle’bells’, bands and BOSU’s.

Ballet Stretch
*:  Enjoy a gentle flow of beginner ballet techniques that combine balance, stretching and toning.

***:  A high intensity, full body workout using cardio and strength exercises to make you challenge yourself!

Cardio Fit
**:  A low impact aerobics class that focuses on building strength and increasing cardio endurance.

Cardio Kickboxing
**:  Have a blast in this high energy cardio aerobic class!  Optional Kickboxing bags increase intensity.

**:  This high-intensity class combines cardio exercises with strength training for a full body workout.

**:  Use a foam roller for active stretching, strengthening the core and releasing tension.

Gentle Sculpt
*:  Tired of using weights for strengthening and toning?  Use your body weight to tone and build strength.

Intro to Weights
*:  A weightlifting orientation for those who are learning or are new to using weight room equipment.

Just For You Fitness
*:  A fitness program designed to be a full body workout using hand weights and resistance bands.

Move & Groove
**:  This upbeat dance class includes easy cardio moves with low impact combinations for fun and fitness!

Fridays:  9:00 to 9:45 a.m., with Sandee

**:  This core muscle workout combines strength and flexibility with a mind-body connectivity for the entire body.

Thursdays:  10:00 to 10:45 a.m., with Linda

*:  Pronounced (CHEE-GONG), this exercise is a gentle, with slow movement, deep breathing, and meditation.

Tuesdays:  11:00 to 11:45 a.m., with Linda

***:  This high-intensity interval training workout is designed to perform 20 seconds of exercise with 10 seconds of rest.

Wednesdays:  5:30 to 6:15 p.m., with Kelly

Total Abs**:  Focuses on exercises that work your abdominal muscles and obliques.

Training Camp**:  Join this high energy, fast-paced cardio conditioning class!  Class location is to be determined.

**:  This relaxing class combines strength, flexibility, and balance to release tension in your body.

Zumba/Zumba Toning
**:  This fun, high energy dance aerobics class doesn’t even feel like a workout.  Move to the beat, smile, and sweat!  Mix the moves of Zumba with light hand weights to create an upper body strength training program.
