Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium provides a full-service workout center, including a large weight room and a cardio room.  This facility also offers a full-size hardwood basketball court and racquetball courts.  Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium offers a variety of group fitness classes, youth and teen programs, as well as pickleball, raquetball, and volleyball.  Please see below for more information.

The Group Fitness Classes listed below are offered at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium for $4 per person/class for city residents and $10 per person/class for non-city residents. Participants also have the option of purchasing a punch card that includes 24 classes for $28 for city residents, and $50 for non-city residents.  

Active Aging Fitness Class is designed for our senior population.  This class combines strength and balance, along with some cardio elements.  Active Aging is offered from 9:00am to 10:00am on Tuesday's and Thursday's. 

AM Body Blast is a total body exercise program meant to build strength and endurance.  This class is for all ages and fitness levels.  AM Body Blast is offered from 10:15am to 11:00am on Monday's and Wednesday's.  

Basic Yoga Level 1.5 is a Hatha yoga class that places an emphasis on coordinating breath with movement for stretching, strength building, and mindful awareness.  Prior yoga experience is not necessary.  Basic Yoga Level 1.5 is offered from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Monday's and Wednesday's.  

Beginners Yoga is a full body fitness program in a very casual setting that progresses slowly through a series of yoga poses to develop strength, flexibility, and balance.  This class is intended for everyone.  Please bring your own mat and towel.  We recommend bringing water as well.  Beginners Yoga is offered from 10:15am to 11:00am every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  

Body Sculpt focuses on gentle strength training for the whole body.  This class is meant to improve muscle strength and stability.  Body Sculpt is offered from 4:15pm to 5:00pm on Monday's and Wednesday's, and also on Thursday's from 6:30pm to 7:15pm.  

Boot Camp is designed for maximum calorie burn in the shortest amount of time.  It is a combination of strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core, and  functional movement patterns.   Our goal is to promote health, challenge your mind and body, and most importantly, make fitness fun!  Boot Camp is offered from 6:15pm to 7:00pm on Monday's.  

Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced while seated, or standing and using the chair for support.  Often, the poses are adaptations of Hatha Yoga poses.  Chair Yoga is offered from 10:15am to 11:00am on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's. 

Cycling will challenge your endurance, strength, and speed.  Experience a ride full of hills, sprints, and endurance intervals while listening to energetic music.  Cycling is offered from 5:30pm to 6:15pm Monday's through Thursday's, from 7:00am to 7:45am on Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's, and on Saturday's from 9:00am to 10:00am.  Please note: the Tuesday evening class features a 30-minute yoga stretching session at the conclusion of the class.    

Express Cardio focuses on building strength and potentially helps with weight loss over time.  Express Cardio is offered from 8:00am to 8:30am on Tuesday's and Thursday's.  

Full Body Workout Fitness utilizes all of the major muscle groups, with emphasis on stretching for both flexibility and balance.  The class uses a variety of equipment, including weights, BOSU balls, resistance bands, and more.  This class also promotes camaraderie and social support.  Full Body Workout Fitness is offered from 9:00am to 10:00am on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's.  

Gentle Yoga helps participants transition from introductory yoga classes to Hatha Yoga.  This class focuses on alignment and form in specific yoga poses, while also helping to correct posture.  Gentle Yoga is offered from 11:30am t0 12:30pm on Monday's and Wednesday's.  

House Party Fitness is a growing and nationally-accredited cardio hip hop program that uses the hottest music along with moves that translate to the dance floor.  This is a fun and unique dance fitness class.  House Party Fitness is offered from 11:30am to 12:15pm on Friday's.  

Muscle Pump is a great full body workout that uses dumbbells, resistance bands, and body weight to define and sculpt the muscles.  Muscle Pump is offered from 12:00pm to 12:45pm and from 5:30pm to 6:15pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's, and from 9:00am to 10:00am on Wednesday's and Friday's.  

On The Ball uses an exercise ball to help maintain correct posture to target all muscle groups.  On The Ball is offered from 5:30pm to 6:15pm on Monday's.  

Strong By Zumba combines body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio, and plyometric training synced to original music that matches every move.  This is NOT a zumba class.  Please bring your own mat and towel.  Strong By Zumba is offered from 5:30pm to 6:15pm on Wednesday's and Friday's.  

Super Crunch is an intense core workout set to upbeat music.  This class is designed to strengthen the core and sculpt the body.  Super Crunch is offered from 4:15pm to 5:00pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's.  

Tai Chi combines slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises.  The routines in this class are not designed to burn calories or raise the heart rate.  Tai Chi is offered from 9:00am to 10:00am on Monday's.  

Zumba uses Latin and World music to help participants dance to a more fit body.  This class is great for building a strong core.  This class is for everyone, as dance experience is not necessary.  Zumba is offered from 10:15am to 11:00am on Monday's and Wednesday's, from 6:15pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's, from 9:00am to 9:45am on Thursday's, and from 8:45am to 9:30am on Saturday's.  


The following sports are available at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium for adults.  Please see the descriptions for days and times.  Participation in these sports is free for members, $3 for seniors (55+), and $5 for ages 18-54.  

Basketball
can be played during designated open play hours.  This is for all ages.  Open play basketball hours are 8:00am to 10:00am on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's, and from 2:00pm to 4:30pm on Saturday's.  

Handball
can be played in our raquetball courts.  You must provide your own equipment.  Please call 843-918-2355 for court reservations. 

Pickleball
is the fastest growing sport in the USA!  This game combines tennis and badminton for a game that is high on fun and fitness.  Pickleball is offered from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday's and Wednesday's, and from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday's, Thursday's, and Friday's.  

Raquetball courts at Crabtree are available by reservation.  Please call 843-918-2355 for more information.  Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium also offers seasonal raquetball leagues.  Eyewear and raquets can  be rented for $1 each, or you can bring your own. 

Volleyball is geared towards seniors, but any adult can play.  Volleyball is offered from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's.  

Wallyball can be played in our raquetball courts.  Availability is limited, so please call 843-918-2355 for reservations.

Open Gym is a time in which the gym is open for your choice of activity; basketball, badminton, volleyball, sprints, etc, on a first come, first serve basis. Open Gym is available from 7:00am to 8:30am on Monday's, Wednesday's, and Friday's, from 11:30am to 1:00pm on Monday's and Wednesday's, and from 9:00am to 10:00am on Tuesday's. 


The following youth and teen programs are available at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium.  Please see the descriptions for days, times, and pricing. 

Crabtree Youth Martial Art Program is for ages 7-14.  This class promotes fitness and discipline, all while improving focus and self-confidence.  Instructor, Marilyn Del Gaizo, is a fourth degree black belt in Taekwondo and has 25+ years experience instructing youth and adults.  Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.   The fee for city residents is $15 for 8 classes, and non-city residents is $25 for 8 classes.  The participants receive a free t-shirt with registration.  

Teen Indoor Games is for ages 13-17, and will consist of a variety of sports and games that will all be played at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium.  Volleyball, Indoor Kickball, 9 Square, Dodgeball, and Speedball are some examples of our Teen Indoor Games.  These activities are free of charge, and they are offered from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday's.
