HISTORY


Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium is named for the late Clement Gurley Crabtree, former recreation director of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base.

Corner Icon  Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium at Grand Park received a $6 million expansion and renovation in 2008.  Annual, monthly and daily membership options are available.  Classes and activities are available for all ages, along with youth and adult sports programs.  For more information, call the gym at 843-918-2355.


Blue Box  Crabtree Gym is part of the Grand Park recreation complex at The Market Common.  It includes an outdoor inline hockey rink, multi-purpose playing fields, picnic shelters, a beautiful lake, fitness stations and a 1.1 mile walking path.

Crabtree Gym provides a full-service workout center, from its hardwood gym to the racquetball courts, and from the weight room to the exercise equipment. Crabtree Gym is open Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The following classes and activities are available, with pre-registration required.  The Crabtree punch card schedule is available as a PDF flyer, as are the Crabtree class descriptions and the Summer Schedule for Crabtree Gym.  We reserve the right to cancel any class that does not meet minimum enrollment.  Full refund will be provided for any class we cancel.  For more information, call 843-918-2355 or visit the center at 1004 Crabtree Lane.

 

Senior Volleyball:  Come join us for Senior Volleyball on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in our basketball gym.

Pickle Ball:  Experience the fastest growing sport in the USA!  This game combines tennis and badminton for a game that is high on fun and fitness.

Group Cycling Classes: Challenge your endurance, strength and speed every class.  Experience a ride full of hills, sprints and endurance intervals while riding to energizing music.  Cycling will enhance your speed, strength and stamina, improve your overall physical health and increase your caloric burn.  Bring a towel and water because you will sweat.

Bosu X: The ultimate workout for individuals looking to push out of their comfort zone and break through those plateaus. Take your muscular endurance & strength to the next level. Using the Bosu Ball while doing cardio drills and strength training exercises will allow you to improve your balance and challenge your core. This class is an intermediate/advanced workout, but can be modified for all levels.

Zumba: Using Latin and World music, dance your way to a fitter body. With interval training sessions you tone and sculpt the body while burning fat; great for building a strong core. No dance experience needed, just a smile!

Muscle Pump: This is a great full body workout using dumbbells, bands and body weight to define and sculpt your muscles. Build strength and muscle, helping you burn more calories throughout the day.

A.M. Body Blast:  Total body exercise program to build strength and endurance for all ages and fitness levels.

Spartan Boot Camp:  A strength and conditioning class that will provide an opportunity for development of strength and conditioning for various fitness related activities. Conditioning activities will be incorporated to promote improvement in strength, endurance, balance, agility, and speed.

Active Aging Fitness Class:  A class designed for our Senior population that combines strength, balance and cardio elements to keep you fit.

Advanced Active Aging Fitness Class:  A more challenging version of our Active Aging Class for Seniors, focused on strength, balance and cardio.

Beginners Yoga:  Is a full body fitness program in a very casual setting that moves slowly through a series of yoga poses to develop strength, flexibility and balance. Yoga is for everyone. You don’t have to be a certain body type or super flexible. Please bring your own mat, a thick towel and a water bottle.

Kickboxing Fitness and Core:  An aerobically based martial arts and boxing program with a focus on strengthening the core, where classes combine punches, kicks and footwork that anyone can follow. Using a portable punching bag you will perform combinations using actual contact. Gain endurance, strength and self-confidence.  Recommended for both men and women of all fitness levels.

Rush Hour:  Are you up for a total body workout? This class will use a variety of cardio drills that can include cardio bag work, sports conditioning, cycling and more. Spread out between cardio drills will be challenging strength training exercises using dumbbells, resistance bands, ball or just your own body weight. A power packed routine of nothing but PURE SWEAT!

Grab Bag:  Surprise! You never know what type of class you will be doing, BUT you will be challenged.

On The Ball:  This is a 45 minute high intensity low-impact strength and core conditioning class that will also combine agility functional training.

Pilates – Abs:  A combination of 30 minutes of Pilates and 15 minutes of abs, Pilates-Abs focuses on the awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength and flexibility. The outcome of this training is a balanced body, flat stomach, balanced legs, and a strong back.

Heavy Bag Cardio:  Take your Cardio kickboxing training to the next level. With a high intensity workout that will increase your strength and flexibility, burn calories to the max with cardio and strength conditioning Heavy Bag Cardio is for you!
