Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium is named for the late Clement Gurley Crabtree, former recreation director of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base.

Corner Icon  Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium at Grand Park received a $6 million expansion and renovation in 2008.  Annual, monthly and daily membership options are available.  Classes and activities are available for all ages, along with youth and adult sports programs.  For more information, call the gym at 843-918-2355.


Blue Box  Crabtree Gym is part of the Grand Park recreation complex at The Market Common.  It includes an outdoor inline hockey rink, multi-purpose playing fields, picnic shelters, a beautiful lake, fitness stations and a 1.1 mile walking path.

Crabtree Gym provides a full-service workout center, from its hardwood gym to the racquetball courts, and from the weight room to the exercise equipment. Crabtree Gym is open Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The following classes and activities are available, with pre-registration required.  The classes and activities also are available as a PDF flyer.  We reserve the right to cancel any class that does not meet minimum enrollment.  Full refund will be provided for any class we cancel.  For more information, call 843-918-2355 or visit the center at 1004 Crabtree Lane.

 

If you want to take your game to the next level and have fun, join us for Summer Basketball Skills-N-Drills Camp. This program is for youth ages eight to 15 and will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium.  Registration is underway.  Fees are $15/City Resident and $25/Non-City Resident.  For more information, call 918-2369.

 

Fun-n-Fit for Kids:  Learn healthy habits specifically tailored to incorporate physical fitness activities for kids ages eight through 13.  This fitness class will be a combination of fitness instruction and games.  Session runs 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 12 through July 3.  Fees:  $10 City Resident / $17 Non City-Resident. 

 

Bosu Boot Camp:  Want to get energized and take your exercise to the next level?  Bosu Boot Camp is the class for you.  This action packed class is a fun and challenging way to work your core strength, cardio and muscle endurance; using resistance bands, medicine balls, stability balls, and of course, the bosu. Here we will incorporate a functional aspect to fitness with hard work ethics.

Cardio Bosu: A 45 minute class designed for beginners to learn total body moves and become acclimated to the bosu balance trainer.  It will introduce low impact cardio step patterns with dynamic balance and stabilization into a fun, powered packed workout.

Senior Volleyball:  Come join us for Senior Volleyball on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in our basketball gym.

Zumba: Uses great Latin and World music and dance to create a work out where you have so much fun you forget that you’re burning calories.  The routines feature interval training sessions using slow and fast rhythms to tone and sculpt the body while burning fat.  No dance experience is needed just a desire to have fun and get fit.  Learn new dance moves and sculpt your core.

Pickle Ball: Come and experience the fastest growing sport in the USA!  This game combines tennis and badminton for a game that is high on fun and fitness.

Beginner Group Cycling: This class is perfect for those new to indoor cycling.  You will learn how to set up an indoor bike.  Your ride will last 20-30 minutes to a variety of music.  We will keep the intensity at a level so you can pedal at your own pace.  Bring a bottle of water and a towel.  Class space is limited and are offered on a first come, first serve basis.  Sign up is required no earlier than 30 minutes prior to all cycling classes.  Sign up at the front desk.

Advanced Active Aging Fitness Class: A higher intensity workout designed for seniors, it
concentrates on flexibility and overall conditioning using BOSU and steps.

Cardio Kick Boxing Class: An aerobically based martial arts and boxing program.  Classes combine punches, kicks and footwork anyone can follow with actual contact working combinations on a portable punching bag.  Gain endurance, strength and self-confidence.  Class is available on a first-come, first served basis.  Sign up at the front desk is required no earlier than 30 minutes before class.
