Here's a chance to put your artistic skills to good use! The City of
Myrtle Beach and the Bike Week Task Force are sponsoring a contest for a
logo design for the Friendship Team, which helps with two major events
in May. The winning artist will earn a $250 prize, and the logo may be
used on the Friendship Team's t-shirts. Here are the contest rules:
-
The entry deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday,
March 24, 2008.
-
The contest is open to amateur or
professional illustrators of all ages who reside in Horry or
Georgetown Counties.
-
Your logo should illustrate the motto:
"Our beach is your beach: Please respect our communities," and this
text must be included in the logo design.
-
The logo must be the original artwork of
the entrant. No reproductions, in whole or in part, of any existing
artwork or logo will be accepted.
-
Only one submission per entrant will be
accepted. The artist's name, address and phone number must
accompany the submission.
-
The logo must be a finished, color
artwork, suitable for translating into a t-shirt design. The
finished image size will be approximately 11 inches by 8 inches.
-
One winning artist will receive $250.
-
The logo must be of a high enough
quality to convert to camera-ready art without significant
alteration or effort.
-
The winning artwork may be used on the
official Friendship Team t-shirts and elsewhere and becomes the
property of the City of Myrtle Beach.
-
Non-winning entries can be returned to
the artists and will be available for pick-up at the Myrtle Beach
City Hall, 937 Broadway. Please indicate whether you want your
entry returned, or you may enclose a self-addressed, stamped
envelope for return.
-
All entries must be delivered to the
Myrtle Beach City Hall, 937 Broadway, by 5:00 p.m., Monday, March
24, 2008, or mailed to Friendship Team Contest, City of Myrtle
Beach, P. O. Box 2468, Myrtle Beach, SC 29578, with a postmark date
no later than March 24, 2008.
-
City of Myrtle Beach staff members will
judge the entries and select the winning design.
