The hours of operation for the Base Recreation Center will change beginning July 12. The new hours will be:
Monday and Tuesday – Closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday – By Reservation Only
The following classes and activities are offered at the Base Recreation Center. For more information, call the Base Recreation Center at 918-2380 or come by the center at 800 Gabreski Lane! Can’t find a class or activity to suit your needs? Call 918-2380 and discuss it with us.
Free Wi-Fi… Free Wi-Fi services will be available Wednesday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Just bring your own laptop, enjoy some coffee, catch up on the world news and surf the web.
Senior Movie Schedule… Come enjoy a free movie for adults and seniors every Friday at 3:00 p.m. Soft drinks and popcorn are available for $1 each.
Friday, July 9 – Mall Cop (PG), starring Kevin James Friday, July 16 – My Sister’s Keeper (PG-13), starring Cameron Diaz Friday, July 23 – Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns (PG-13), starring Angela Bassett
Myrtle Beach Table Tennis Club… If you enjoy the game of table tennis, come join this competitive group! All are welcome to play. The club meets Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Just $2 to play.
Bingo… Bingo, anyone? Come play every Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. There is no charge for bingo, but please bring a prize for the prize table!
Quilting… Come join the Grand Strand Quilters on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Learn how to make your very own quilt or show off your skills to others. All are welcome to join this fun and exciting group. Just $2 per visit. Annual memberships are available for $10 per year for city residents or $17 for non residents.
Line Dance Lessons… with Sandra Morris every Thursday from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Just $4 per person for city residents or $6 for non residents. You’ll love the music, fun and friendly people!
Guitar Lessons… with Steve Marino every Thursday by appointment. Quick and easy instructions for the beginner student and theory and technique for the developed guitarist. Classes are in 40 minute time slots. Students must have own guitar and call to schedule time. Maximum 4 students per time slot. Fees: $5 per class for city residents and $8 per class for non-residents.
