Leagues and recreation opportunities


   
 

The Recreation Division offers a variety of adult sports and league play activities throughout the year.  These include softball and flag football teams, co-ed recreation leagues and more.  For information about adult sports, call Jen Shaffer at 843-918-2389.

 

Women’s League Softball Rosters

 

It is important for ALL Teams to complete and submit the required paperwork on or before the cutoff date of May 18, 2012.  A team packet consisting of team roster and registration forms must be completed in its entirety, including name, address, phone number.

In addition, copies of EVERYONE’S (new or repeat) driver’s license must be submitted with each team roster by the cutoff date.  If a driver’s license is missing, the roster will be considered incomplete, and the team will be ineligible for participation in the league. 

Completed team packets must be returned on or before 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2012.  Packets may be mailed or hand delivered to:

Flag Football Rosters

 

Each coach who wishes to enter a football team must fill out the Flag Football Roster Form and include a copy of each individual players’ driver’s license (must have a copy of all driver’s licenses for both new and repeat players). The roster needs to be filled out in its entirety, with first name, last name, street address and city with zip code.  Rosters will not be accepted if not filled out completely and driver’s licenses are not attached. 

This information must be returned by 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, in order to have a team in the selection process.  Information may be dropped off or mailed to:

Rosters and driver’s licenses also may be faxed to 843-918-2358.

If the number of teams wishing to participate exceeds our league availability, the following criteria has been established:

 

1.  Percentage of players on each team residing in the city limits.

2.  Repeat teams from the last calendar year.

3.  Lottery/Drawing

 

As usual, the cost of the league is based on the amount of teams in the league.  Additional information will be available once the team league numbers have been determined.  You will be contacted about a coaches’ meeting, following the team registration date.

 

Co-Ed Kickball League Rosters

 

Each coach who wishes to enter a kickball team must fill out the Kickball Roster Form and include a copy of each individual players’ driver’s license (must have a copy of all driver’s licenses for all players). The roster needs to be filled out in its entirety, with first name, last name, street address and city with zip code.  Rosters will not be accepted if not filled out completely and driver’s licenses are not attached. 

This information must be returned by 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, in order to have a team in the selection process.  Information may be dropped off or mailed to:

Church League Softball Rosters

 

Participants must be 15 years old as of April 1, 2012. It is important for ALL Teams to complete and submit the required paperwork on or before the cutoff date of March 5, 2012.  A team packet consisting of team roster and registration forms must be completed in its entirety, including name, address, phone number and member/non-member status.  A church representative must sign off on the roster in the space provided, including contact information. Church representatives will be contacted to verify the eligibility of the players on their roster. 

If a player wishes to participate on a team other than their “home church,” a letter must be submitted from their minister, pastor, priest, etc., stating that the player’s “home church” does not participate in the City of Myrtle Beach’s church softball league.  In addition, copies of EVERYONE’S (new or repeat) driver’s license must be submitted with each team roster by the cutoff date.  If a driver’s license is missing, the roster will be considered incomplete, and the team will be ineligible for participation in the league.

Reminders!

  • Players may participate in one spring softball league only:  Church, Major, American, National or Independent.  Players who play in a 2012 Major league are not eligible for coed play in the fall.

  • Game nights and/or times may vary according to league participation.

  • Copies of driver’s licenses are required for everyone.

  • You will be contacted about a coaches' meeting once the leagues have been determined.
